Denmark gives its artillery to Ukraine

Denmark has decided to deliver all its artillery ammunition still in stock to Ukraine, the country’s prime minister Mette Frederiksen announced at the Munich Security Conference on Sunday.

There is a big shortage of artillery ammunition in Ukraine, as they are used daily in large quantities on the front.

– If you ask the Ukrainians, they are now asking us for ammunition, artillery. On the Danish side, we decided to donate all our artillery, Frederiksen said.

He criticized the West’s still too leisurely actions to help Ukraine.

– I’m sorry to say this, but there are still ammunitions in Europe’s warehouses. This is not just a matter of production, because we have the weapons, we have the ammunition, we have the air defense, which we don’t need to use ourselves at the moment, but we should supply them to Ukraine.

However, Frederiksen did not specify how many artillery shells Denmark has in its warehouses.

– Russia does not want peace with us. It is destabilizing the West in many different areas: the Arctic, the Balkans and Africa with disinformation, cyber attacks and hybrid warfare, and of course in Ukraine, he said.

Russia: Avdijivka completely occupied

Russia claims to have taken full control of the town of Avdijivka. The Russian defense minister says on Sunday that he advanced five kilometers in the front line, taking the city once and for all. The matter was reported by Reuters.

Ukrainian troops had to withdraw from Avdijivka already a couple of days ago, but the last Ukrainians defended their positions to the last. The fighting is described as one of the most intense during the almost two-year war.

ISW: Air supremacy in Russia for the first time in a war

According to ISW, Russian air supremacy has guaranteed its ground forces military support in the attacks of the last few days. Air supremacy is believed to have been a significant help when the Russian troops captured the town of Avdijivka and moved the front line forward by several kilometers.

ISW believes that Russia will also achieve air supremacy in other offensive sectors in the near future. It is believed to be a huge benefit to Russian attacks.

Ukraine claims: Destroyed four fighter jets over the weekend

The Ukrainian news website Kyiv Post claims that the Ukrainian armed forces shot down four Russian fighter jets over the weekend.

According to the newspaper, Ukraine shot down three Russian planes on Saturday. A video of Sunday’s alleged downing of the Su-34 bomber is spreading on the messaging service X. The veracity of the video has not been verified.

Ukrainian media’s claims about the downing of Russian planes were published at the same time as ISW reported that Russia had achieved air supremacy locally.
