According to the organizers of the festival, the soloists of the group Katerina Pavlenko, the so-called “white voice” or authentic folk singing technique, wind in the music of “Go_A” through the rhythms of electronics. “We want the visitors of the festival” Summer Sound “to feel our love, strength, zeal and unique Ukrainian culture during our performance. We wish people in Latvia peace, harmony and security,” comments Katerina.

The group “Go_A” interprets Ukrainian folklore, dressed in the sounds of electronic music. Its name comes from the word “Go” – movement, while “A” – the ancient Greek “alpha”, which symbolizes the return to cultural roots. Its story began in 2012, when sound producer Tarass Shevchenko met ethno singer Katherine Pavlenko. After recording several songs, they realized that Ukrainian folklore and electronic music fit together perfectly, combining their energy and emotions in real sound enjoyment.

In addition to Katerina Pavlenko and Taras Shevchenko, Goor A also includes Ihor Didenchuk, a folklorist and unique multi-instrumentalist, as well as Ivan Hruhoria, a guitar virtuoso from the age of 12.

The band “Go_A” gained worldwide recognition with the hit “SHUM”, performing it in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. Although the song was performed in Ukrainian, it won the hearts of listeners and became a worldwide hit, reaching the top of many European music charts. “SHUM” is also the first Ukrainian song to reach the top of the “Billboard TOP 200”.

“Summer Sound” will also perform this summer: “Musiqq“, Gacho, “Jumprava”, “Dagamba”, “Astro’n’out”, “Singapore Satin”, “Left Bank”, “Dairy Adventures”, Ralph Eiland and others. The list of artists will soon be expanded with a number of foreign and domestic musicians and bands. The organizers of the festival remind that “Summer Sound” gathered a record number of visitors in 2019 – on both days the festival was visited by 32 thousand people.

The tenth festival “Summer Sound” in Liepaja will take place on July 29 and 30.
