Astana (Kazakhstan) ∙ Russian President Vladimir Putin declared himself ready to discuss the question of Ukraine. He said that if Ukraine agrees, he will accept mediation from the countries of the world.
Putin accused India and China of holding peaceful talks, but Ukraine is not ready yet. For the first time in 8 months of war, Putin has softened his position. The answer was given at a press conference held after the summit of the CICA, which is an association of 27 Asian countries including India, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Putin warned that NATO, a military alliance that includes the United States and European countries, could lead to a global catastrophe if it clashes with Russia. He said that there is no need to regret Russia’s actions in Ukraine and that Russia’s goal is not to annihilate Ukraine.
