WARSAW Ukraine hit back prank after Poland confirmed it would not send fighter jets to Kiev to fight against Russia . This is prank second after previously the European Union promised the same thing but suddenly canceled it.

Initially, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing a United States (US) government source reported that Poland was considering supplying Soviet-made fighters such as MiGs to Ukraine.

However, Warsaw requested F-16 fighter jets from the US in return.

The Polish Prime Minister’s Office via Twitter called the report WSJ about the potential MiG deal with the F-16 as “fake news“.

“Poland will not send its fighter jets to Ukraine and allow it to use its airport. We are very helpful in many other areas,” the office said.

A Polish government spokesman clarified to local public broadcasters on Monday (7/3/2022): “This is a very complicated matter. The Polish authorities have not yet made a decision on the transfer of the plane to Ukraine.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked the US to supply fighter jets to Kiev if NATO refuses to impose a no-fly zone over Ukrainian airspace.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, as quoted Axios, Tuesday (8/3/2022), confirmed that the US would not oppose Poland’s sovereign decision to transfer its planes. However, he stressed there were a number of logistical hurdles.

It was actually a sign from the White House that supplying fighter jets to a country at war with Russia was not easy.
