“Germany “Zelensky was recently denied access to NATO anti – drone rifles and anti – sniper systems,” Zelensky said in an interview on Tuesday.
“Don’t we have the right to get them in the eighth year of the war? Obviously, we have that right,” he added.
A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said on Monday that it was not possible to comment on confidential decisions taken by NATO at the moment.
Ukraine announced last month that it had asked for more military help from Western allies to deter Russia from attacking.
There are fears in the West and in Kiev that Moscow could plan a new invasion of Ukraine, and the United States has warned Moscow that such a move would have serious economic consequences.
Russia has pulled about 100,000 troops off the Ukrainian border.
U.S. President Joe Biden warned Russian President Vladimir Putin at a video summit last week that the United States would impose unprecedented sanctions on Russia if it attacked Ukraine.
Zelensky said the warning did not prompt Russia to withdraw its troops from the border.
He warned of “much greater damage” in the event of an invasion.
“Is Russian society ready to pay with the lives of its sons for trying to occupy another part of Ukraine?” Zelensky asked.
The West was hesitant to sell arms to Kiev for a long time, but Ukraine eventually managed to acquire some defense systems, including the Turkish-made Bayraktar drones.
Russia and some Western countries, including France and Germany, have criticized Ukraine for using these drones.
Meanwhile, Putin has demanded guarantees from Western countries that Ukraine will not join NATO.
