UK imposes new sanctions against Russian airlines

Britain increases economic pressure on Russia because of the war in Ukraine. On Thursday, May 19, Britain announced new economic sanctions against the Russian aviation sector.

It is noted that the list includes the state-owned Aeroflot, as well as the companies Ural Airlines and Rossiya.

Now Russian air carriers will not be able to sell their unused seats at UK airports. This will not allow Russia to earn about 50 million pounds.

“As long as Putin continues his barbaric attack on Ukraine, we will continue to attack the Russian economy. We have already closed our airspace to Russian airlines. Today we will make sure that they cannot cash out their advantageous seats at our airports. Each economic sanction intensifies Our clear message to Putin is that we will not stop until Ukraine wins,” said Foreign Minister Liz Truss.
