Saturday’s fight scheduled between Ovince Saint Preux and Alonzo Menifield was canceled a few hours before the gala after Saint Preux tested positive for COVID-19.
Saint Preux (24-14) and Menifield (9-1) had to pay the price for the semi-final of the gala featuring Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar.
According to his manager Oren Hodak, Saint Preux would have fought COVID-19 previously and his duel on Saturday would have been called off as a precaution after he obtained positive and negative results in drug tests this week.
Its manager added that Saint Preux is feeling good.
