MEXICO CITY (apro).- In the midst of the war between Russia and Ukraine, UEFA will hold an emergency meeting this Friday to analyze a possible change of venue around the Champions League final and the cities of London and Munich , in addition to Paris, appear to replace Saint Petersburg as the city of the European Cup final, scheduled for August 28.
In the last hours, the highest governing body of soccer in Europe ratified St. Petersburg as the scene of the definition of the title, despite the threat of the Russian government to invade Ukraine.
Last Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the advance of troops to Ukrainian territory to recognize the provinces of Donetsk and Lugansk as independent republics.
Following the evolution of the situation between Russia and Ukraine in the last 24 hours, the UEFA president has decided to convene an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee for Friday 25 February in order to assess the situation and make all the necessary decisions ”, announced the agency.
For now, European media take the change of venue for granted, even the English press anticipates that Wembley could host the Champions League final.

In this context, the Brazilian soccer players who play in the Ukrainian league, mainly in the Shakhtar Donestk and Dinamo Kiev teams, sent a message through a video from the hotel where they are confined with their relatives in which they request the help from his government to leave Ukraine.
