Ubisoft launches Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine

The corona pandemic continues to wreak havoc in the gaming industry, and now the situation has gone beyond two upcoming Ubisoft games. Both Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine is postponed, and will now be launched no earlier than April 2021.

The news comes from Ubisofts report from the first half of the current financial year. There, the developer reports that production of the games has encountered “challenges related to covid-19”. As a result, the developer has chosen to postpone both until the next financial year – that is, sometime between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2022.

In addition to Ubisoft’s report, the Far Cry team also took part Twitter to share their own message with fans.

– While we know that you are all excited to get started on Far Cry 6, we want to say that we have had more time to both make the game you look forward to playing and at the same time focus on health and well-being for our teams.

Far Cry 6 was first unveiled this summer, with a planned release date in February 2021. The game takes us to a revolutionary party in Yara, a fictional country ruled with an iron fist by dictator Anton Castillo.

We know far less about the Rainbow Six Quarantine, even though it originally was shown in June last year. Players can probably expect shooting and something with zombies, but after several postponements it is no longer good to say what this game will be.

Uplay disappears – now it’s Ubisoft Connect.
