Anyone over the age of 19 in Toronto can now place orders from licensed cannabis dealers via the Uber Eats app. Leafly said this is the first time cannabis has been delivered home via a major third-party delivery platform. Leafly also said that the age of the customer who is placing the order will be verified. Instead of Uber drivers, dealers’ staff will deliver cannabis to your doorstep.

After opening the Uber Eats app, customers can choose where they want their cannabis from. Then the verification process to verify their age must be completed. You can choose the cannabis products of your choice from the menu. When the reseller accepts his order, he will be notified via a notification. The age of the user will be checked again when the courier arrives.

Leafly owners Marisa and Dale Taylor said in a joint statement that the new venture is a great way to expand their operations and grow their business across the city. Lola Kassim, General Manager of Uber Eats Canada, explained in a press release that the partnership with Leafly will help provide people in Toronto with a safe and affordable option to purchase legalized cannabis products via home delivery.

“We have invested heavily in our delivery business over the past few years. UberEats has quickly become a versatile platform that can be used for a wide variety of transactions, large and small,” the company added. The two companies have yet to say whether the partnership between Uber Eats and Leafly will extend to other parts of Canada.
