As noted, a Russian An-30 military aircraft violated Swedish airspace south of Blekinge on the night of April 29.
An-30 is an air surveillance and aerial photography aircraft used in military aviation for aerial reconnaissance.
Swedish fighters followed the incident and photographed the aircraft.
An-30 was east of Bornholm, and then flew towards Swedish territory.
The aircraft briefly violated Swedish airspace before leaving the area.
- On April 13, the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet wrote that Sweden joins NATO: supposedly the Prime Minister has already decided on this.
- On the same day, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin stated that Finland will decidewhether to join NATO or not, within a few weeks.
- The next day Russia began to threaten Finland and Sweden “for NATO” nuclear weapons, Iskanders and hypersonics.
- Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said that Russia’s threats to the still neutral Finland over its possible entry into NATO are not new and will not affect to the Helsinki decision.
- On April 21, a meeting of deputies of the Finnish and Swedish parliaments took place, during which the parties exchanged views on NATO membershipwhile Finland said it would apply in the coming weeks.
