UAE with first lunar mission to Arab World | Deshabhimani

ABU DHABI> The United Arab Emirates have successfully launched the Rashid rover, the Arab world’s first lunar probe, into space. The UAE-made Rashid rover was launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at Space Launch Complex 40 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

With this, the UAE became the first Arab country and the fourth country in the world to land on the moon. The United States, the Soviet Union and China have already carried out the lunar exploration mission. The probe will land on the moon in April 2023, five months after launch.

The Rashid spacecraft will land on the lunar region Lacus Somni Yoram, which means Lake of Dreams. The rover also aims to explore the northeastern side of the Moon. The Rashid rover is tasked with studying lunar soil, dust and photoelectron shielding. A 17th-century map gave special names to the hills and craters of the moon. The dark parts (seas) were called Maria and the light parts (land areas) Earth.

Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969. Then 12 people walked to Chandraloka. The moon is the only sphere that man has touched outside the earth. Therefore, moon studies are more intriguing. Lunar exploration missions are gaining more attention as nations prepare for competitions to carve out territories on the moon. The UAE’s rulers have congratulated the planners of the lunar exploration mission, which will leave the footprints of the Arab world on the moon and raise the UAE flag in space. Starting with space travel to Mars, now to the Moon and now to Venus, the UAE’s journey of conquest is progressing.
