UAE Minister of Health from Lattakia: We will continue to support Syria with all we can

The Syrian homeland: The Emirati Minister of Health and Community Protection, Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad al-Owais, landed at Lattakia airport yesterday, accompanied by a medical delegation, on board a plane loaded with 46 tons of relief aid for those affected by the earthquake.

Al-Owais, who inspected during his visit Lattakia Governorate and a number of damaged sites in Jableh, confirmed that the visit to Syria comes under the direct direction of the President of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to follow up on health needs directly from the Syrian field, and to study the situation in general.

After his visit to a number of those injured as a result of the earthquake in the Martyr Ibrahim Naama National Hospital in Jableh, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Hassan Al-Ghobash, the Governor of Lattakia, Amer Hilal, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Damascus, Ambassador Abdul Hakim Al-Nuaimi, Al-Owais said: “What Syria has gone through is not a challenge of its own, and we need a position.” More humane than any other direction, for everyone to agree on this disaster that befell the region, so that everyone would be a distinguished model in lifting the calamity from the human being.

He pointed to the presence of many countries of the world and Arab countries in the Syrian field to contribute to lifting the scourge on Syria, pointing out that the UAE continues to provide support to Syria.

The Emirati minister added, “We and the Syrians are one people, and there is continuous communication to help our brothers in Syria, in implementation of the directives of President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and with direct follow-up from the Minister of the Presidential Court, Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to secure direct health and medical needs,” referring to the formation of a team Emirati doctors, engineers and technicians specialized in health services to study the current situation and support the brothers in Syria with all that the UAE can provide, not only for this stage, but for the coming stages.

Al-Owais referred to the efforts of the Syrian staff in the health sector who are facing challenges, saying: “Without a doubt, it is sad, but at the same time joyful, what we see of young energies facing all challenges with strength and boldness, noting the strong cohesion among the Syrians to complete the challenge.”

And he added, “This challenge is not only for Syria, but for humanity as a whole, and the positions of all countries must be humane, and we see a unified position towards this great humanitarian challenge on the world level.”

For his part, Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghobash said: Cooperation between Syria and the UAE in the health sector is not momentary, and work has always been done because of its provision of appropriate health services for citizens in accordance with the directives of the leaderships of the two countries. with it.

The tour of the UAE Minister of Health also included a visit to the site of the UAE rescue teams that worked to contribute to the rescue operations as a result of the earthquake that struck the province on the sixth of this month.
