Tzum | News: Rob Stoker is looking for support for the fantastic children’s book Olaf

At Voor de kunst Rob Stoker has started a campaign for his children’s book Olaf to get funded. Tom Beijering makes the illustrations for this story for children aged 10 and older.

Why is this book important:
First of all, I wish every child a beautiful, exciting story. The reader is introduced to beautiful worlds and special means of transport (mini-submarine, snowmobile, dog sled, lunar vehicle, jetpack, canoe).
The reader is made to think by the way in which Olaf deals with the many complicated situations. In any case, he struggles with his own insecurity – he is bullied at school and they call him Zolaf – and he has to overcome a lot to pass all the assignments. Olaf’s doubts and reflections will be recognizable to many children.
In addition, dealing with his demented grandmother creates funny, but also moving situations. How does a child deal with a grandmother who is very confused, who does not always recognize even her grandchild? In this book, this boy learns that some things are part of life and that it also takes courage to ask for help. The latter may sound gloomy, but that will definitely not be the feeling that remains after you have read the book.
