Tyshawn Corbett, aka “Reck,” of New York Drug Gang Elite Assassin Miles (EAM), Sentenced to 45 Years in Landmark Ruling

In a landmark ruling, Tyshawn Corbett, aka “Reck,” a lifelong member of the violent New York drug gang Elite Assassin Miles (EAM), was sentenced to 45 years in prison in federal court in Brooklyn.

Corbett, 32, admitted guilt in September 2022 to three firearms offences, including murder and attempted murder, related to organized criminal activityas reported by Fox News.

The gang, known for terrorizing East New York, operated primarily through fraud and drug trafficking, specifically the sale of crack cocaine and marijuana. The press release from the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York reveals that The gang, nicknamed “Gun Town,” gained power by eliminating rivals through murders and attempted murders.

Corbett, nicknamed “shooter” within the gang, carried out three shootings, the first being in April 2015., where he shot and killed Michael Tenorio. Subsequently, between 2016 and 2018, he attempted to murder “John Doe #1” on two occasions, leaving him paralyzed after a violent attack in June 2018.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office highlighted that Corbett was involved in at least four additional shootings over the years, according to evidence presented during the trial of a co-defendant. This case has led to the conviction of six other EAM members and associates, including its leader, Quandel Smothers, who is scheduled to be sentenced in March 2024.

Years of violence
