The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that Typhoon Kanun, which is heading east in the opposite direction from the East China Sea and heading to the southern sea of ​​Kyushu, Japan, will head north from the southern sea of ​​Kyushu next Monday. In addition, it predicted that next Wednesday, after landing in Kyushu, Japan, it would continue northward, pass through the southern Japanese archipelago, and then head north directly to the East Sea.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that the typhoon would head north in the direction of Ulleungdo on Thursday when it moves north from the East Sea, and on this route, the Yeongnam region, Gangwon-do, Ulleungdo and Dokdo will be directly affected by the typhoon.

In particular, as Ulleungdo and Dokdo get very close to the center of the typhoon, strong rain and wind will blow, and it is expected that a lot of rain will pour in the east coast area.

Even when the typhoon moves north from the East Sea, it will maintain the power of a mid-level typhoon with a central atmospheric pressure of 975 hPa and a central maximum wind speed of 32 meters per second (115 km per hour), and a strong wind blowing at 15 meters per second will have a radius of up to 300 km, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration. predicted.

If the typhoon moves north on the current expected course, it is expected that a typhoon warning will be given to Ulleungdo, Dokdo and the Yeongnam coast, the east coast of Gangwon, and the entire East Sea.

Along with this, the Korea Meteorological Administration asked to be careful about safety accidents along the coast because swells continue to surge on the coast even before the typhoon heads north into the East Sea next week.

The name of Typhoon No. 6, ‘Kanun’, was submitted by Thailand and is a kind of tropical fruit.
