They had come from Nantes in a stolen car to settle their accounts. Two young men aged 25 and 26 were tried on Tuesday before the Rennes criminal court after a shooting in the Cleunay district, reports West France. The facts occurred on the night of January 4 to 5, 2020. Several shots were fired that night in a neighborhood park.
Hit by bullets in the leg and posterior, an 18-year-old was seriously injured. He had presented himself to the emergency room of the CHU where he had been taken care of. In this case, which had been the starting point for a series of settling of scores in the Breton capital, three suspects had been arrested in June 2020.
During the hearing, the main defendant admitted having fired the shots, explaining without too much convincing that he had touched the young man “unintentionally”. He was sentenced to five years in prison. His accomplice was sentenced to thirty months in prison. The two individuals are also banned from appearing in Ille-et-Vilaine for five years.
