Two victims in absolute emergency after a new fall in the Rennes – Rennes metro

On Tuesday evening, at 9:50 pm, a 42-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman fell from a railing located in front of the entrance to the Henri Fréville metro station in Rennes. They fell eight meters below. Polytraumatized, they were transported in absolute emergency to the University Hospital of Rennes.

This Wednesday morning, their condition, particularly that of the man, was still considered very worrying.

During last autumn, in March 2022, which took place at Villejean station, Le Télégramme had identified as many as six very serious falls on line A of the metro since its opening. Two people have already died. With these two new falls. The total falls would therefore be eight.

No news of his complaint

On 29 November 2019, Raphaël Boury, a young student from Sérent in Morbihan, died at the Sainte-Anne station. His mother had filed a complaint on January 23 at the Rennes police station. On that day, she explained to the Telegram: “I have decided to file a complaint today so that no one can lose their life by taking the metro in Rennes. You lose your life … or spend it in a wheelchair.”

Almost three years after the events, his complaint produced nothing. Accompanied by Telegram, she explains: «My lawyer occasionally reminds the prosecution … But no news. With the opening of the second metro line. Severe falls that kill or leave people in wheelchairs will be expected to increase further. “
