The epicenters were near the city of Defne, but tremors were also felt 200 kilometers away in the administrative center of Hatay province, as well as in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Cyprus, Israel and even Egypt.
Several previously damaged buildings collapsed in Turkey, killing at least three people.
More than 200 residents were injured, and authorities in neighboring Syria also reported several dozen casualties.
Meanwhile, after the February 6 earthquake, the death toll in Turkey has already exceeded 41,000 people, while almost 3,700 people died in Syria. The earthquakes caused billions of euros in damage and many countries and organizations are already providing or preparing to provide aid.
On Monday, the first NATO ship left the Italian port of Taranto with 600 containers that can be adapted for living, and the alliance will deliver a total of about 1,000 temporary housing units to Turkey.

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale occurred on the night of February 6 in southeastern Turkey and neighboring Syria. The number of victims of the earthquake has exceeded 40,000.
