Two police officers were found dead inside a patrol car, in the Valle de los Geranios sector, north of Guayaquil.
Neighbors of the sector reported the news to the ECU-911, around 12:40 on Friday the 21st.

The police vehicle was parked on the public road at the top of some steps, with the engine running and the windows fully closed, according to a police report.
The uniformed men were identified as First Corporal Eduardo Olivares Romero and the policeman Marcelo Loja Guamán. They were both leaning back in their seats.
According to neighbors, the uniformed men were carrying out preventive patrol rounds and then apparently they stayed resting in that area.
Legal and Criminal Medicine personnel and relatives of the police officers arrived at the site. The causes of the event are still being investigated, but it is presumed that they died asphyxiated by carbon dioxide. (I)
