On the occasion of the 27th version of National Wheat Day that took place in Okinawa (100 kilometers northeast of Santa Cruz), there was the official presentation of two new varieties of wheat, Trunfo de Biotrigo and Curupaú de Marín Semillas.
Both varieties met for trial periods in three different zones, before being commercially released in this event dedicated to wheat.
In addition, there was a presentation of fertilization works in wheat, corn and sunflower.
One of the novelties presented by the exhibitors was the management of soil with green manure and the samples of the investigation of incidence and severity of the Piricularia disease in the varieties, as well as the technological packages to improve the management of the crop by the suppliers. of inputs to the wheat sector.
The event was broadcast virtually through Anapo’s Facebook page and was subsequently opened to producers who were invited by exhibitors to learn about the technologies established in demonstration plots at the Caico Experimental Center.
Katsumi Bani, director of Anapo, expressed his satisfaction with the event, “which helps us to confirm that farmers are committed to food production.”
Kenji Bravo, manager of Caico, said with satisfaction that “it was worth co-organizing this event again, for all the novelties that were presented to the producer, in addition to the fact that the weather accompanied us to have a good technological sample.”
For his part, the technical manager of Anapo, Richard Trujillo, said that the presentation of the wheat varieties “shows us the efforts of private research programs in alliances with international centers are giving results to offer more technologies with high-yield genetics.” .
