Two Mataram Residents Died of Dengue Fever

MATARAM – Mataram residents are asked to be vigilant. The change of seasons can trigger Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) to run rampant.

Case records in September, two residents died. “Two (people) died,” said the Head of the Health Service, Dr. Usman Hadi, yesterday (27/10).

From the statistics, the cases actually show a downward trend from the beginning of 2021. “Don’t let it (there is an increase in cases),” he hoped.

Two cases died due to delays in treatment. So that medical measures failed to provide help.

Dr. Usman appealed to the public to be more responsive. Immediately go to the nearest health center if you see any early symptoms around.

In addition to the two people who died, until September recorded 1 suspect case.

Then there are 108 cases of dengue fever. “It resembles dengue fever, but (after research) it is not dengue fever,” he explained.

Meanwhile, there are 281 confirmed cases of dengue fever. “Of these 281 cases of shock syndrome, 8 cases,” he explained.

The Health Service has worked hard to help 8 patients who are in shock with dengue fever syndrome. “We managed to handle (6 cases), but 2 died,” he explained.

As is known, dengue is caused by a virus Dengue. This virus is transmitted through mosquito bites Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Albopictus.

These mosquitoes usually breed quickly during the transition season or the transition from dry to rainy seasons like today.

Residents are asked to be vigilant and pay attention to environmental cleanliness by applying 3 M. Draining the bathtub or places where there are puddles of water; close the bath; and bury waste. (zad/r3)
