The District Mayor’s Office ordered this Sunday the temporary closure of the public markets called Barranquillita (meat), located at Calle 9 N ° 43-60, and El Playón, at Calle 30 N ° 41B-80, from 00:00 on this Monday, June 29, until July 13 at 12:00 at night.

The measure is part of preventive health actions to contain the spread of coronavirus in this area of ​​Barranquilla, after an active search and search for covid-19 was carried out in La Magola, El Boliche, El Guineo, El Plátano, Barranquillita (meat), El Playón, El Pescado and Las Vegetables.

The manager of Public Markets of the District, Juan Camilo Jaimes, specified that with this determination the situation of the Barranquilla squares is as follows:

Squares of essential products, which are open, serving the public in person, applying ‘peak and schedule’ and biosafety protocols:

Controls in the markets

The District Health Secretariat also ordered that they be implemented in all public markets in Barranquilla. hygienic measures in contagious spaces or surfaces and health actions that facilitate the population’s access to its services.

Sellers, operating agents, and merchants are mandated to handle products using gloves and masks, maintain permanent hand washing, and use antiseptic gel for hand and surface disinfection.
