Two feminicides in the 1990s: Trial in Hamburg

New developments in two so far unsolved cases: A 68-year-old has to answer before the Hamburg district court on Tuesday for two feminicides in the 90s.

Starting today (9.15 a.m.), a 68-year-old man has to answer for two murders before the Hamburg district court. The defendant is said to have abused, strangled and robbed two women in their own apartments in Hamburg in the 1990s, according to a spokesman for the Hamburg regional court.

The impetus for the current process was provided by the reassessment of both cases, whereby the responsible investigators noticed parallels to earlier acts by the German.

68-year-old convicted ten years ago

The defendant was already sentenced in 2011 by the Lübeck Regional Court for attempted murder in unity with dangerous bodily harm to the detriment of his own niece to a prison term of nine years with subsequent preventive detention.
