Two dead and four injured in a night of violence in New York

Last night, Shameek Harrison, 44, was stabbed outside a building on Vernon Avenue near Lewis Avenue at around 7:10 pm, he was taken to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Harrison’s death opened a series of overnight homicides in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

The police did not know at the time what was the cause of the homicide.

The deceased had about 28 prior arrests, including criminal possession of a controlled substance, but had been released on probation in 2012, state corrections records show.

About 40 minutes later, a 22-year-old man had been stabbed inside a Bronx building on Metropolitan Avenue near Purdy Street. He was seriously injured.

Then at 8:40 pm two 20-year-olds, members of the gang “Los Vagos”, they were shot on East 105th Street and 3rd Avenue. One of them was attacked while riding a bicycle. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Morningside and are in stable condition.

An hour later, two men who have not yet been identified were shot while walking near West 139th Street and Lenox Avenue. One of them died trying to flee, published the New York Post.
