Two civilians killed in Israeli airstrike in Syria

SANAA – A total of two civilians were killed and several soldiers injured in the alleged air strike Israel in central Syria. State media reported that Syrian air defenses were activated to counter the attack.

“The Israeli enemy carried out air strikes with missile bursts from northeast of Beirut, targeting several points in the central region,” a Syrian military official told the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Wednesday morning (24/11/2021).

The official added two other civilians were “seriously injured” in addition to the two killed.

Six soldiers were also injured in the attack, which took place at around 01:30 local time. “The attack also inflicted some material losses,” the military officer said, although he did not elaborate.

Unconfirmed footage circulating online shows one of the missiles in the sky over the city of Homs, but no Syrian interceptor missiles are seen in the short video clip.
