At 01.10, the South-East police district reported an accident at sea at Kragerø. It is a collision between two boats.

– One boat has run to the pier in Kragerø, the police wrote.

In the boat that has entered Kragerø, there were five people with injuries. Two people are seriously injured, but not life-threatening, the police write. One has head injuries, while another has bone fractures. Wood from this boat had been slightly damaged.

The police reported that the other boat had driven on after the collision. The owner of a white daycruiser was wanted by police. At 0220, the police announced that the owner had reported and taken himself to a marina not far from the accident point.

– None of those involved in this boat are, according to what we have learned, injured, the police write.

Three people were in boat number two. The master of this boat is suspected of per mille.

Operations Manager Ottar Steinstø at the South-East Police District tells VG just after 0530 that an initial interrogation has been carried out.

– There have been short initial interrogations, and we can not go out with anything yet. It is not clear who is to blame for the accident. The case is being investigated further.

Oddgeir Andersen in the Main Rescue Center told VG earlier last night that there were eight people in the first boat that has come to the quay.

– They are taken care of by the emergency services on site.

HRS launched a major rescue operation. Andersen said that HRS had an air ambulance, rescue helicopter and lifeboat in search of the other boat. It was thus located at 0220.

HRS worked on the basis that someone needed help when the campaign was launched.
