Two Apple TV + films nominated for BAFTA awards

For some, the measure of the quality of a streaming video service is in the amount of awards that its original content gets. The reality is that there are many more factors than those when it comes to rating a platform, but yes it helps to have critically recognized shows. And Apple TV + does not lack of those.

When Apple presented the service in society, back in March 2019, it became clear that it was not a platform designed to have lots of different content. On Apple TV +, what matters is the quality of the movies and series that are present. From documentaries to series of the moment, everything must have the approval of Apple.

So when it comes to awards season, it is not surprising that among the nominees we find some of the Apple TV + productions. And in the case of the BAFTA Awards, from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, there are two that have appeared on the lists: «Greyhound» y «Wolfwalkers».

In the case of “Greyhound”, the film written and starring Tom Hanks, is nominated for best visual and sound effects. Y “Wolfwalkers” goes even further, entering the list of candidates for the best animated film award.

What is clear is that this is only the beginning. Apple TV + has prepared a great list of releases for this year, with new seasons of existing series, and completely new productions. As if that were not enough, it will also be the home of the next Skydance Animation films. Thus, it is quite likely that the two BAFTAs this year will come to nothing compared to what is to come.
