Twitter manages to limit Apple’s impact

Twitter missed Wall Street’s estimates for user growth. The social network, however, noted a “modest” impact on its advertising revenue from changes made by Apple to its confidentiality rules.

Twitter appears to be doing better than rivals Facebook and Snap in the face of recent changes Apple made to its device privacy policies that prevent advertisers from following users on their devices without their consent.

Its advertising revenue reached $ 1.14 billion in the quarter ended September 30, an increase of 41%, which corresponds to analysts’ expectations. His total income, meanwhile, rose to $ 1.28 billion, also in line with Wall Street’s goals.

The company expects fourth-quarter revenue to be between $ 1.5 billion and $ 1.6 billion.

All is not rosy for the blue bird company, however. Twitter reported that the number of monetizable daily active users, its term for users who receive ads, was 211 million in the third quarter, below analyst estimates. These were estimated at 212.6 million, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.

Twitter also recorded in the third quarter a very heavy loss of 537 million dollars, related to an amicable agreement with shareholders who considered themselves aggrieved.
