Twitter malfunction: users who ‘tweeted too much’ were notified

The Tweetdeck platform also did not work for various users. Others were unable to read or send tweets. Twitter itself confirmed the outage.

The malfunction, caused by several foreign media was noticed came hours after Twitter launched a new service. The social medium promised paying users to send tweets with up to 4,000 characters.

Then the outage occurred, in which many users received a message that they had exceeded their daily limit.

Lots of layoffs

Twitter was bought by Elon Musk for $44 billion last fall. The American almost immediately fired a large part of the staff. Of the 8,000 employees that the company originally had, there are now about 2,300 left.

According to experts where the BBC spoke to, such a large drain can have consequences for the operation of the platform.

Complaints for weeks

In recent weeks, many users have complained about problems with Twitter, according to the British broadcaster.
