User X (formerly Twitter) Of Android devices can now make phone calls and video call from that platform.

According to monitoring CNNIndonesia.com on Tuesday (23/1), X users on Android will receive a pop up notification when opening the application, namely “Audio and Video calls are here” at the bottom.

The user will then be directed to open the settings section, to regulate who can contact via voice call or video call.

“We released a new way to communicate on X, Audio and Video Calls. Audio and Video Calls are now available on iOS and Android,” X wrote on the page his help.

X explained that all users can receive phone calls, but only premium users can make calls.

Users can set who can call from the Direct Messages or DM settings section.

“To be able to contact other users, they must have sent you a Direct Message at least once before,” wrote X.

Users must enable push notifications to be able to receive calls in the X app on Android devices.

Here’s how to make a phone call or video call in the X application:

1. Click the envelope icon. You will be redirected to your message.

2. Click an existing DM conversation or start a new conversation.

3. Click the phone icon, from there you can do:

– Click Audio call to start an audio call

– Click Video call to start a video call

4. The account you call will receive a notification that you called them and if they don’t pick up, they will receive a notification that they missed the call.

When making a call, you can do a number of things, from tapping the audio icon to put the call on speaker; mute or unmute the microphone by tapping the microphone icon; until ending the call by tapping the X button.

These calls are said to have good security, which is enabled by default. This enhanced call privacy is a new setting on the X that helps protect user privacy.

By enabling this setting, your IP address will be hidden from people making and receiving calls.

Specifically, if both parties on a call disable this setting (which is the default setting), after the server facilitates the initial setup, the call itself is routed peer-to-peer so that each party’s IP address is visible to the other party.

However, if either party enables this setting, calls between the two will be routed through the X infrastructure, and the IP address of whichever party has this setting enabled will be hidden.
