Mayor Cisse Bacongo

Actions for a twinning between the city of New York in the United States and the town of Koumassi are in sight, we learned from sources close to the Town Hall.

We learn that, it is in this context, the Mayor of the Municipality of Koumassi, Minister Cissé Ibrahima Bacongo recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the NGO Successworld1 (France) led by Her Royal Highness Queen Nadia Harihiri , UN Goodwill Ambassador for the International Commission on Human Rights, Global Chair of Help-Give-Nourish, Pro-Chancellor of Rockfield Science College.

This signature of partnership thus opens the way to the triggering of the mechanism which should lead to the twinning between the city of New York and the Commune of Koumassi, we note.

Indeed, on March 4, 2023, during Queen Nadia Harihiri’s stay in Abidjan, as part of the charity gala dinner to raise funds for the construction of a refuge for the NGO Bloom, a value of more than one billion CFA francs, His Royal Highness leaked information that a twinning between the city of New York and the Commune of Koumassi would be imminent.

Thus, during the month of May, a delegation from the City of New York will stay in Côte d’Ivoire in order to concretize this twinning. The information was made public by Mayor Cissé Ibrahima Bacongo at his Cabinet located at the Town Hall of Koumassi, we are informed.
