Turkey takes steps against France and Charlie Hebdo over Erdogan cartoon

Samuel Paty

Erdogan attacked French President Macron hard this week. In a speech, he expressed doubts about Macron’s mental health over measures announced by the French government against radical Islamist organizations. The reason for this was the murder earlier this month to the French teacher Samuel Paty.

Paty taught students about freedom of expression at a school near Paris. He showed cartoons of the prophet Mohammed. Because of its publication in Charlie Hebdo, Islamic terrorists committed an attack on the editorial staff in 2015. They shot twelve employees, including the editor-in-chief, and later two police officers on the street.
