The TSB Gmünd perspective team pays a lot of money in the opening game of the handball state league. After a 12:19 deficit at the break, the newcomer showed his morale and got within three goals, but was clearly defeated by the guests from EK Bernhausen by 27:36.

After the fantastic promotion season with 17 wins in a row, TSB Gmünd II was immediately caught off guard at its national league premiere. “We imagined it completely differently,” said coach Rudi Rascher after the hard belly landing, which was also the first defeat for his team since November 2022.
The young people from Gmünder were not completely without a chance, as the final result suggests. At the beginning of the second half, TSB II had the momentum on its side, but due to poor conversion of opportunities, the loss from the initial phase could not be made up for.
