The Twitter account of the internet social network that US President Donald Trump used as a main communication channel has been permanently suspended.
In a statement on the 8th, Twitter said, “After careful review of recent tweets, the context surrounding them, and how they are accepted, the account was permanently suspended due to the risk of further incitement to violence.”
Accordingly, when Twitter users access the account, they can only see the phrase’Account Suspended’, and they can’t see President Trump’s profile picture and posts posted so far.
Twitter’s actions came amid rising demands for suspension of duties along with President Trump’s accountability in connection with the invasion of protesters in the US Capitol on the 6th.
President Trump had previously tweeted to urge supporters to gather in Washington, DC.
