Trump adviser Anthony Fauci in ‘modified’ quarantine | NOW

Anthony Fauci, the immunologist who is a key member of the Trump administration crisis team attempting to curb the corona outbreak in the United States, takes additional steps after coming into contact with a White House employee who has tested positive for the coronavirus, reports CNN Saturday. Two other members of the team are also at home for two weeks.

Fauci would not have had direct contact with the person when they were infected, so the risk of infection is low. Therefore Fauci, as he says it himself, will be put in an “adapted” quarantine.

The 79-year-old medical expert who is one of the few who dares to give Trump a rebuttal will work from home, or from his office at the National Health Institute where he will be the only one present, for the next two weeks. It will also be tested daily. If Fauci is called up by the White House or by Congress, he will respond and take all precautions.

Fauci is the third member of the corona task force to go into voluntary quarantine. The director of the U.S. health service CDC and the head of the U.S. drug watchdog FDA also voluntarily went into home isolation on Saturday after coming into contact with a positively tested White House employee.

Who that person is was not revealed, but Friday revealed that Vice President Mike Pence’s press officer, Katie Miller, is infected with Covid-19. Her husband is a speech writer and advisor to President Donald Trump.
