Trier: killed Ukrainian († 38): murder out of jealousy? | Regional

Merzig/Trier – For the Trier public prosecutor’s office, it was murder out of jealousy. She has now filed charges against the Ukrainian Yosyp H. (34), who is said to have killed a compatriot († 38) in a Trier hotel at the end of March (BILD reported).

Victims and alleged perpetrators had fled their homes before the war. The Ukrainian last lived with her family, including a daughter (13), in Merzig, H. in the Neuwied region.

Both are said to have been intimate with each other before the crime and had known each other for several years.

The 34-year-old admitted during the investigation that he assumed the woman was using her mobile phone to send messages to other men.

According to the public prosecutor, H. probably approached the woman lying on the bed from behind, grabbed her by the neck and strangled her.

After the fact, the 34-year-old fled, but was arrested on the night of April 2nd on a train near Regensburg. He has been in custody since then.
