Graffiti artists have been busy in the past week under the bridges on the Vaartkaai in Merksem. Street art follows the trajectory where Julie Van Espen was killed last year and is also dedicated to her.

The artworks are dedicated to nature, which Julie Van Espen also loved. One of the pillars, for example, depicts a peony, her favorite flower.
‘We are working on this week,’ says Tim Marschang of Street Art Antwerp. ‘In August we also start with a work on the wall of Candico, right next to the bridge of the Sportpaleis, where Julie disappeared. It will be a tribute to all victims of sexual violence. ”
