Trials of Mana exceeded Square Enix expectations – News

Extremely respected around the world, the Seiken Densetsu series has had a series of remakes in recent years. If Secret of Mana HD does not seem to have received the hoped-for reception, its successor, Trials of Mana, has been much better received.

Pointing to 76% average on Metacritic (74% on Switch, 78% on PC), this remake of Seiken Densetsu 3 has also seen much better sales. This is what Yosuke Matsuda, president of Square Enix, revealed during a question / answer session carried out with investors. The man has indeed announced that the title had exceeded expectations, without giving figures however. As a reminder, Trials of Mana reached 150,000 sales during its launch week.

Trials of Mana sales are so strong that they have exceeded our initial expectations. Regarding our catalog, we are seeing an increase in digital sales, in particular for titles resulting from our strong licenses, without any special promotion.
