Three foreign NGOs announced Sunday they were suspending their operations in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s ban on NGOs working with women, according to a joint statement. “Pending this announcement, we suspend our programs, asking that men and women alike be able to continue our help to save lives in Afghanistan,” organizations Save the Children, the Norwegian Refugee Council and CARE International.
