A total of ten people have died after the Astroworld Festival, and among them are nine-year-old Ezra Blount.
Blount was placed in a clinical coma as a result of the injuries he sustained during the concert. A few days later he died.
Travis Scott has previously said that he will pay for costs the victims may have related to funerals and psychological follow-up.
But this is an offer Blount’s family rejects, according to a letter reproduced by TMZ.
«Your client’s offer has been rejected. I have no doubt that Mr. Scott feels guilty. His journey ahead will be painful. He must meet and hopefully realize that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy “, the family’s lawyer writes to Scott’s lawyer.
The statement is said to have come after Scott’s lawyer approached the family as follows:
“Travis is committed to helping families who have suffered and begin the long process of healing the Houston community. Towards that end, Travis would like to pay for the funeral expenses of Mr. Blount’s son.
Several lawsuits
In the aftermath of the incident, several people are said to have sued Astroworld Festival for the tragedy. Before Blount’s death, among other things, Blount’s family sued the world-renowned rapper, his management and the promoter, accusing them of negligence over public control and of failing to provide access to health care.
According to TMZ, the family’s lawyer confirms that he has recently sued Scott on behalf of the family.
The deceased boy’s grandfather, Bernon Blount, has previously told CNN that his grandson was in Houston to see his favorite artist, and that he had been to the concert with his father, Treson Blount.
During the concert, the crowd in the crowd that arose was trampled down and squeezed so it became difficult to breathe during the artist Travis Scott’s concert.
– When my son went to the concert, he had my grandson on his shoulders, Blount has said.
Must have had a cardiac arrest
– All the people pushed and he could not breathe so he ended up fainting because of all the pressure on his body. When he lost consciousness, Ezra fell off his father’s shoulders and into the crowd.
The boy had already been taken to Texas Children’s Hospital as an unknown patient when the father reached the place where he lost contact with his son.
The grandfather has said that Ezra “had a cardiac arrest that damaged his heart”. The boy will also have liver and lung injuries and swelling in the brain, according to Blount.
The family has previously stated that they are crushed as a result of the death.
Scott was out early to express their despair after the incident:
– I am completely crushed by what happened yesterday. My prayers go out to the families and those affected by the incident during the Astroworld festival, he wrote on social media the day after the incident.
However, the rapper has had to endure a huge rage on social media because of what happened. Most of the criticism is precisely that he did not stop the concert when the chaos broke out.
