Traveling without insurance with wrong license plates

Lintorf. On Monday, January 3, motorcycle police officers noticed a Mercedes-Benz with accident damage to the front of the vehicle near the Am Krummenweg roundabout. During the subsequent inspection, they initially found that the main inspection had expired more than eight months. When the police asked for the data on the license plate, they were amazed that it belonged to a Volvo. The Mercedes R-Class had already been decommissioned in February 2020 and was therefore neither insured nor taxed.

The 51-year-old Ratinger, who was on the road with the R-Class, is being investigated for forgery of documents, tax and insurance violations and for a licensing violation according to the licensing regulations.

The license plates were removed from the vehicle on site and secured. The man from Ratingen was forbidden to continue the journey.
