On Saturday afternoon (March 12) there was a major police operation at Englschalking station in an S8 from Munich towards the airport. The trigger was a 52-year-old who threatened travelers with a knife on the S-Bahn.

At around 4:15 p.m., the operations center of the Munich PP informed the federal police that there had just been a gun threat on an S8 towards Munich Airport, whereupon several patrols drove to the scene. The suspect was caught by the Munich police force, who was provisionally arrested and then handed over to the federal police.

According to the current state of investigation, the 52-year-old Croat is said to have suddenly approached a 20-year-old German on the S-Bahn and insulted the man from Munich. In the further course he pressed him against the train disc. After the younger man was able to free himself, the man from Benningen am Neckar pulled out a knife and threatened his victim with gestures and verbally. A 52-year-old witness observed the situation, made an emergency call and pulled the emergency brake. After the 20-year-old was able to get off at Englschalking station, the Croatian approached an 18-year-old Kosovar who was also sitting on the S-Bahn and insulted him. The aggressor was apprehended by police officers who had arrived in Munich in the meantime, arrested for the time being and handed over to the federal police, who arrived a short time later. The one-handed knife used was found during a search of his belongings. The 52-year-old was taken to the federal police station at Ostbahnhof. After all police measures were completed, he was released. The officers seized the knife. The man is being investigated for insult, threat and violation of the weapons law.
