Transportation prices in Havana updated

The Provincial Transportation Company of Havana (EPTH) updated the prices of a certain type of transportation in Havana. The Cuban capital, between the fuel deficit and the old age of its bus fleet, has a difficult situation.

According to information disclosed in media Officials, the EPTH clarifies that the cost of the ticket for buses of complementary services in the capital remains at 2 pesos in national currency (CUP). Therefore, the prices of this transportation in Havana are ratified.

This clarification is made in response to user concerns and exchanges generated on different platforms, such as the channel of Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transportation; the Citizen Portal of the Government of Havana and other information media on the rates and services of public transportation in the Cuban capital.

The EPTH reiterates that all its buses that provide services in the capital have a price of 2.00 CUP, without changes for the moment.

Transport Prices in Havana in April 2024

Although last December, the increase in the price of transportation in the country was announced, this measure has not yet been made effective because “the conditions have not been created.” But apparently with the increase in fuel prices, some state drivers are going on their own and raising the established prices.

The transportation situation in the capital is difficult, and if this is how Havana is, what to expect for the rest of the provinces.

The Cuban government, through the Ministry of Transportation, recently recognized the existence of a serious public transportation crisis in Havana. The main cause: more than half of the guaguas (buses) are unusable.

The Granma newspaper revealed that only 252 of the 561 buses that should be circulating daily in the capital are operational. This represents a deficit of 55%, which translates into long waits, crowds and poor service for citizens.

This crisis has a significant impact on the daily lives of Havana residents, who are forced to spend hours waiting for public transportation, enduring long lines and uncomfortable trips.
