Russia has expanded sanctions against Ukraine

For the first time, the Russian Federation imposed sanctions against Ukraine in 2015. Russia also introduced similar measures against a number of countries that supported anti-Russian sanctions.

Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov and more than 70 people were included in the list of persons against whom special economic measures are in force in Russia. This on Friday, August 20, is discussed in decree government of the Russian Federation.

It is known that the list also includes First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Dubinsky, Adviser to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olena Zerkal, Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada Lyudmila Denisova, Head of the Accounts Chamber Valeriy Patskan, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentin Reznichenko.

The list was last expanded in December last year. Then he was joined by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov, his first deputy Ruslan Stefanchuk, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Yelizaveta Yasko and several deputies from the Servant of the People.

Earlier, in 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On the application of special economic measures in connection with unfriendly actions of Ukraine against citizens and legal entities of the Russian Federation.” At the same time, the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was included in the list of such persons.

We will remind, at the meeting of the NSDC adopted a decision to impose sanctions against a number of persons, including well-known Ukrainians.
