Transport Online – Consequences of lockdown for the transport sector

ZOETERMEER – During the press conference at 7 p.m., outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Health Minister Hugo de Jonge announced additional corona measures. The measures will apply from 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, December 19, 2021. The measures will in any case apply until Friday 14 January 2022. What does this mean for the transport sector? TLN looked it up for you, below everything in a row.

Facilities en route

Gas stations and shops are allowed to remain open after 5 p.m. The catering industry in gas stations along the main road network is only open to professional drivers. The catering industry in filling stations on the underlying road network must be closed. Food can be picked up here.

Roadside restaurants belonging to the main road network may only be open to professional drivers during regular opening hours. This must be demonstrated. It is not yet clear how this should be demonstrated. Meals can be collected from all roadside restaurants.

Support measures

During the press conference of 14 December 2021, the cabinet announced that the current support measures will also apply for the first quarter of 2022. This remains unchanged.

Training and exams

Driving exams, driving lessons and theory exams are allowed between 05:00 and 17:00. Even if this is for a profession or business, such as for the truck driver’s license. Theory lessons for profession such as the theoretical part of the refresher training for instructors and drivers (code 95) may continue. The maximum group size is two people in a car.

(Freight) car dealers and garages

Car dealers are non-essential stores and must therefore close until January 14, 2022. You may be waiting for the delivery of a new truck. Delivery of (lorry) cars is still possible. Garages may remain open. Note: workshop only.

International

The green lanes will be maintained, also with the United Kingdom.

TLN is in good contact with the Ministries of Infrastructure and Water Management, Economic Affairs and VNO NCW about the additional corona measures. If there are any changes to this message, our editors will of course update this message.
