Train hits car in Fleurus killing two, rail traffic disrupted

A train crashed into a car on a level crossing causing two deaths in the commune of Fleurus, Infrabel said Thursday evening. Rail traffic is completely interrupted between Fleurus and Ottignies, most likely until the end of the service. The SNCB sets up bus shuttles.

The accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. rue Philippebourg in Fleurus, when a train struck a car on a crossing of line 140 between Ottignies and Charleroi.

Rail traffic is completely stopped between Fleurus and Ottignies, details Infrabel.

Rescue services are on site.
