EA today unveiled the new Battlefield Portal platform, which will be part of this year’s Battlefield 2042 game. In practice, you will be able to combine environments, vehicles and weapons from different time periods. On the day of release, you will receive the following classic maps, reworked into a brand new guise in the Frostbite engine:
- Battle Of The Bulge (Battlefield 1942)
- El Alamein (Battlefield 1942)
- Arica Harbor (Battlefield: Bad Company 2)
- Valparaiso (Battlefield: Bad Company 2)
- Caspian Border (Battlefield 3)
- Noshahr Canals (Battlefield 3)
The starting package should contain over 40 weapons, 40 vehicles, 30 items, 7 period armies and classes / professions, as we know them from previous parts of the series. Of course, you can freely combine classic content with Battlefield 2042 content and future additions.
