Mala ∙ Auto driver Kuzhur Parappuram Marikal Biju (45) was found dead at home. Relatives said that it is indicated that he took his life due to the financial burden of bank loan repayment. The incident happened yesterday afternoon. After Biju and his wife Sabita returned from Kuzhur Co-operative Bank, Biju was found dead when Sabita went out again and returned.
They received a notice from the arbitrator of the Chalakudy Cooperative Society asking them to appear at the Kuzhur Service Cooperative Bank yesterday regarding the repayment of 2.93 lakhs including the loan arrears. When Biju and Sabitha appeared at the bank, the bank secretary informed them that a grace period of 3 months had been granted.
It is also indicated that the financial burden has come due to the accident of the auto-rickshaw driven by Biju the other day. Biju and his family lived in a one-room house at 3 cents near Jayakerala in Parappuram.
A small floor for a new house was built years ago, but financial obligations became a challenge. I have applied for a house under the LIFE scheme, but the process is getting delayed.
