Tragic incident at Sofia airport. A man died shortly after getting off the plane he was traveling with, bTV reports. According to an eyewitness who filed the report, there was no defibrillator at the airport.

“On Sunday evening we landed at around 00:30, when we were waiting for baggage which took at least 45-50 minutes, my husband noticed a man lying on the ground. One of the passengers was performing CPR on him. There were two people from the airport. There were a lot of people, it was terribly hot, the air conditioners didn’t work, everyone was complaining.

There was no defibrillator. The lady who was next to him was holding a bank, they were pouring something into him. The ambulance came at some point and they asked for a screen to be put up,” said Elitsa Beyska, an eyewitness to the incident.

She emphasized that people were outraged and argued with the Border Police that it was very warm. “There was a Spaniard next to me who said – if it was Spain, the ambulance would have come by now and it wouldn’t have come this far,” added Bejska.

Sofia Airport specified that they have a 24-hour medical team, which responded immediately to the specific case. Upon arrival at the scene, he found that the passenger had no cardiac activity, they added. The airport specified that they have three defibrillators.
